Bruce Jackson has worked in the OH&S field for 24 years. Prior to his current role as a safety consultant, he spent 20 years with WorkSafeBC working in a variety of capacities – as a prevention officer, instructor, and in prevention quality assurance.
Bruce provides safety management systems development, Certificate of Recognition (COR) auditing (manufacturing sector), safety training, and incident investigation services to industry.
He is a graduate of the BC Institute of Technology in both OH&S and Operations Management and holds a graduate degree in Human Factors & Safety Management Systems. Bruce has a Diploma in Adult Education, a Provincial Instructor Diploma, and studied business and economics at Simon Fraser University. He’s a Canadian Registered Safety Professional, a Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH), and a Certified Instructional Trainer.
Currently pursuing two OH&S related graduate degrees, Bruce actively volunteers his time to support the health and safety profession by serving as a member of the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering’s Outreach Committee, the chairperson of BCRSP’s Lower Mainland Regional Screening Centre, and the Public Representative on ASTTBC’s Construction Safety Officer Certification Board. The CSSE selected Bruce as the recipient of their Volunteer of the Year award in 2018 for his contributions in supporting the health and safety community.
